About Yvon Jonckbloedt
Heerhugowaard, Netherlands
I am Yvon Jonckbloedt. As a child, I was already incredibly creative. I drew a lot, especially little figures and faces. After high school, where drawing was my favorite subject, I went to fashion school. There I could express myself in subjects like fashion drawing and graphic design.
Besides school, I took a course in nude and portrait drawing where I learned a lot about the proportions of the human body, not the model body from fashion drawing.
After many years of working as a window dresser/visual merchandiser and later as an interior stylist, I fully focused in 2023 on what I love most, creating paintings and experimenting with painting materials.
As a self-taught artist, I developed myself through self-study and a lot of experimenting with different materials and media. Additionally, I gained skills online, read books, and visited museums of famous artists.
My style.
As a self-taught artist, I have the freedom to work outside of conventional and fixed methods taught at formal art academies.
I am always trying out various painting media and materials and experimenting to achieve different results, thereby developing my own unique style.
I have a great imagination. Therefore, it is a challenge for me to convey these images in a work of art and let them tell their own story.
I prefer to work with acrylic paint and try to give the artwork a deeper atmosphere through structures and/or cutouts and homemade patterns on paper.
I love discovering new things and often see the things around me deeper than just the image alone. I want to tell a story with my art and like to let the images speak.
