Ariette van Soelen

I am a painter based in Amsterdam. I have a background in graphic design which is reflected in my sense of shape, color, composition and eye for detail. My techniques vary, mostly oil, acryl, watercolor or ink.

Everyday scenes are my primary source of inspiration. My work is realistic and figurative, but is gradually shifting towards a more expressive approach. I want to find the perfect balance between control and spontaneity.

My goal is always the same: creating strong images, without making it more complicated than it is.
