Sending from your own address in Outlook
The same thing, in Outlook.
Same idea as with Gmail: you keep the mailbox you already use, and only the name on the envelope changes.
You need two things from us first: your address and its password.
Add the address
- Open Outlook and go to Settings, then Accounts, then Email accounts.
- Choose Add account.
- Type your new address and click Continue.
- When Outlook asks for the provider, choose IMAP.
Fill in the servers
Click Show more and enter:
- Incoming (IMAP):
imap.migadu.com, port993, connection SSL/TLS - Outgoing (SMTP):
smtp.migadu.com, port465, connection SSL/TLS - Username, both times: your full email address
- Password, both times: the one we sent you
Click Continue and Outlook checks the connection.
Watch out for typos
Two mistakes account for almost every failed login: a capital I and a lowercase l look identical in most fonts, and copying a password often drags a space along with it. Type it out once by hand before you conclude that something is broken.
On a Mac
Outlook for Mac takes the same route: Settings, Accounts, the + sign, your address, then Sync directly with IMAP and the same four fields under the advanced settings.
