Your profile: bio, banner and links

The page collectors land on. What to write and which image works as a banner.

This is the page collectors land on when they search your name. It does more work than any other page you have.

The fields

  • Artist name — the only one we insist on. Use the name you sign with.
  • Bio — a few sentences about who you are and what drives your work. Stuck? Write a first draft gives you something to react to, Improve my bio tidies up what you have. Both need your name filled in first.
  • About / CV — education, exhibitions, awards. Optional, and a plain list is fine.
  • Country and City — these put you on the map people browse by region.
  • Profile photo — a face. It doubles the chance someone writes to you.
  • Accent colour — the colour of the buttons and links on your page.

Getting paid

Two fields, and you only need one of them.

  • Payment link — from Mollie, Stripe or a Tikkie. Turns into a Buy button.
  • PayPal e-mail — the simplest route if you already have PayPal.

Set both and the payment link wins. Either way the buyer pays you directly: Online Gallery never touches the money and takes no commission.

Links

Your website and social links appear on your page with the paid plans. On Free the fields are there but the links stay hidden.

Writing a bio people read

Write about the work, not about yourself in the third person. What you are trying to get at, what you keep returning to, what material you cannot leave alone. Two honest sentences beat a paragraph of art-speak, and collectors can tell the difference immediately.
