Paper Girl

“Paper Girl” is made of paper on canvas. However, it is not “just” paper, but on a closer look you can see that the pieces of texts are all about philosophy. “Paper Girl” shows a young, self-reliant woman who feels free and comfortable with herself. She is not a shallow piece of paper – on the contrary – she feels that way because she is “filled” with philosophy and brilliant thoughts. The parts and pieces surrounding her are texts about Kant and the American Transcendentalism and deal with the topic of being true to oneself and being mentally but also physically free and in harmony. My piece is about emancipation through education and the appreciation of knowledge, even love for philosophy and the American Transcendentalism that has influenced me so much.
