MAJA works from her studio in Amsterdam, a city she credits as a constant source of inspiration. With formal training in fine arts, conservation, and art history, she brings depth to her practice, focusing on what she calls the beautiful side of the visual to create positive representations of life. Her work draws from multiple wells: the everyday experiences around her, travels to new places, and even her grandmother's poetry. The colors that appear throughout her practice are rooted in nature—bright, rich, and applied with spontaneity. Living and working in Amsterdam means the city itself naturally finds its way into much of what she makes.
