Evert Hendriksen's Wire Icons
Evert Hendriksen works in wire, creating life-size figures of objects that hold meaning for him—tools, instruments, cameras, and other everyday things that have become design classics. Living and working in Utrecht, he describes himself as a creative craftsman whose practice centers on these wire pieces, which he calls Icons in Wire. Each one is a kind of three-dimensional sketch, rendered in clean lines against simple backgrounds. Whether it's a Philips record player, an Opinel knife, a Gretsch guitar headstock, or his neighbor's violin, Hendriksen chooses objects that feel instantly recognizable, often honoring the designers who shaped them.
