Promoting your work

The tools that put your work in front of more people.

Advertising on Google, written and managed for you. You say what you want to promote and what you want to spend; we do the rest.

Setting up a campaign

  1. Open Promote.
  2. Choose what to promote: your whole portfolio, your personal website, or one artwork.
  3. Click Draft my ad with AI. You get headlines, descriptions and keywords to react to.
  4. Go through them. Headlines are capped at 30 characters and descriptions at 90 — that is Google's limit, not ours. Rewrite the ad if none of it fits.
  5. Set what you want to spend per month.
  6. Save campaign and choose how to pay: once, or monthly.

Where your money goes

The screen shows the split before you commit: most of your budget goes straight to Google as ad spend, and a percentage is our fee for writing, setting up and managing the campaign. You also get a rough estimate of the visits and views it should bring.

Treat that estimate as an order of magnitude, not a promise. What actually works depends on your work, your prices and the season.

Managing it

Running campaigns appear under Your campaigns. You can change the monthly budget or stop a campaign at any time; stopping also cancels the monthly payment.

Whether this is for you

Advertising works best when there is something to land on. A page with three works and no bio converts badly however good the ad is. Fill your page first, then advertise it.

If you would rather be written about than advertise, look at Spotlight instead.
