About Patricia Lotens
Patricia Lotens has been drawing and painting since childhood. She studied at De Kleine Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam and later took painting lessons at the Wackers Academy, also in Amsterdam. She has been a professional artist since 2006, working in drawing, painting, ceramics, and teaching.
Lotens discovered porcelain painting by chance and made it her primary focus. In 2007, she won a prize in the Porcelain Painting Society's annual PSG competitions with her work "frog plate," entered in the category "in, on, or underwater." She studied ceramics at the Dutch Ceramics School, specializing in decoration techniques on ceramics and porcelain.
Since 2007, Lotens has taught from her studio in Baarn. She offers lessons in porcelain painting, ceramic decoration, and clay work, teaching both private groups and combined groups. Her students work with clay to create shapes and decorate with color and glaze, or paint on white porcelain with watercolor-like paint in abstract or figurative styles.
