About Pancho Porto
Santiago de Compostela, Spain
Pancho Porto was born in Santiago de Compostela in 1988. He began his education in artistic cabinetmaking at the Antonio Failde center in Ourense, where he first encountered disciplines including carving, drawing, and modeling, along with workshop practice. He later studied sculpture at the School of Arts and Crafts Mestre Mateo in Santiago de Compostela, working with steel and clay while also exploring bronze and resins.
After completing his formal training, Porto established his workshop on the banks of the river Sarela, near his birthplace. There he began investigating the relationship between the materials used in each work and the messages they convey, leading him to develop new approaches to communication and storytelling. His work explores themes drawn from both his social environment and personal experiences.
Porto continues to work in the same workshop where he began.
