Talks program explores painting, materials and joyful contemporary art — Sydney Contemporary

Sydney Contemporary's talks program runs across all four days, bringing together more than 30 speakers shaping contemporary art, architecture, design and collecting. Sessions include "The New Age of Painting" exploring why artists are reimagining this traditional medium, and "The Material Turn" examining how textiles, ceramics and handcrafted materials are experiencing a resurgence in contemporary practice.
Other discussions address accessibility in collecting with "Small Space, Big Collection," demonstrating how meaningful artworks fit any home, and "Art, But Make It Fun!" exploring how artists use humour, play and participation to connect with audiences.
Beyond formal talks, the Fair features artist booth talks where exhibiting artists discuss their work directly, and free guided tours led by art experts discovering stories behind the artworks.
