Prof. Prakash Bhise retrospectives explore abstract painting and indigenous drawing — India Art Fair

6 August 2026

Gallery Art & Soul and Strangers' House Gallery present dual retrospectives of Prof. Prakash Bhise's work, curated by Sumesh Sharma with advisory support from his former students Prabhakar Kamble and Bhushan Bhombale. "Mati" at Gallery Art & Soul features monumental abstract canvases that reflect on roots and connection to earth, while "Dog Sketches" at Strangers' House Gallery showcases Bhise's outlines of dogs drawn with an indigenous crow quill brush called boru.

The exhibitions run concurrently through mid-August 2026, offering a comprehensive view of Bhise's practice spanning abstract painting and intimate observational drawing using traditional Indian tools and techniques.
