São Paulo, Brazil
MASP
A red concrete box lifted on four legs, with paintings floating on glass easels.

Lina Bo Bardi suspended the entire building above an open plaza, and hung the collection on transparent easels so you walk among the paintings and see their backs. Raphael, Van Gogh and Portinari included.
Opening hours and prices change regularly — always check the museum’s own site before you travel.
