Les Baux-de-Provence, France
Carrières des Lumières
Paintings projected forty metres high on the walls of a limestone quarry.
Not a museum in the traditional sense: a former quarry where entire oeuvres are projected across stone walls and floors, set to music, so you walk through the paintings.
Opening hours and prices change regularly — always check the museum’s own site before you travel.
Do not miss
- — Immersive projections on quarry walls
- — Changing annual programmes
- — The quarry itself
