John O’Sullivan

John O'Sullivan lives and works in his studio in Kenmare, County Kerry, Ireland. His abstract and impressionistic paintings draw inspiration from the landscapes and seascapes of Kerry and the west coast of Ireland.

O'Sullivan works exclusively with oils and palette knives, creating heavily textured surfaces with three-dimensional effects. This technique of applying paint with the knife gives his work an energetic quality and allows the paintings to capture light and suggest movement.
