This work depicts the potential illusion of how people experience freedom—or rather, it asks: who or what grants that freedom? COVID-19 gave the world an entirely different sense of liberty. While some placed their full trust in the ruling system, others turned toward a higher power. Ultimately, it became a choice of who or what they allowed to control them. In this piece, I explore what freedom might be, whether it is experienced as an illusion, a surrealist dream, or a reality. My primary focus with every artwork is to grant the viewer full autonomy in how they read or perceive the piece, allowing them to decide if the work resonates with them or not. Medium and Dimensions The work consists of three extra-thick, stapled, rough-fiber canvases. Materials: Epoxy resin, wood, wire threads, acrylic paint, watercolor, oil pastel, and colored glue. Dimensions: Triptych; each canvas measures 40 cm x 120 cm.
