This unique, handmade artwork is a 25x reduced version of the large, monumental outdoor sculpture along the Nettelhorsterweg (N825). The sculpture is inspired by the unique hen and rooster on the church tower of Geesteren and named after the active village volunteer Johan Bleumink. While the rooster stands for vigilance in traffic, the hen symbolizes mutual protection and the Achterhoek neighborhood. This winged pair reminds passersby to stay alert, not drive too fast, and take care of each other and the environment.
