Wooden Chair

This one is very quiet and minimal, just a simple wooden chair in a softly lit room. I placed the chair in the lower half of the composition, giving it a strong presence, but it’s not overly detailed. It’s more of a silhouette, painted in dark tones — mostly burnt orange and brown — set against a lighter, warm background. The background was meant to feel dreamlike, almost like a faded memory. I used muted reds, peaches, and soft oranges, all blended with blurred brushstrokes. There’s a hint of pale yellow and beige in the upper center, like a soft light source, not direct or harsh, but diffused, like sunlight filtering through dusty air. If you look closely, the upper part of the painting hints at shapes that could be leaves or distant foliage, not meant to be literal, but more like the impression of something natural, just barely there in the atmosphere. Those shapes are painted in pale rose and peach tones, adding to the sense of softness. What I was aiming for here wasn’t really the chair itself, but the mood around it. A sense of stillness, solitude, and gentle warmth. There are no sharp lines or rigid forms, just color, texture, and the feeling of being in a quiet room with a story that’s already happened or hasn’t started yet. It’s meant to feel calm, introspective, and maybe just a little bit nostalgic.
