Sailboat mixed media screenprint and acrylic. Size 50cm x 35 cm on 360grams art paper. Mixed technique screenprint with acrylic. By Henk Adriani Silkscreen. There is always one original per colour combination. Giclée prints in various sizes in small editions can be ordered from my website. Giclée prints are high quality reproductions of works of art. The giclée art print is a contemporary digital printing technique that meets the highest standards set by artists, museums and art collectors. The giclée art print, just like the Fine Art Print and the photo print, has acquired an equal place in the art world between the more familiar traditional printing techniques such as the etching, the screen print and the stone litho. Screen printing is an ancient printing technique used during the Song dynasty in China from 960-1279 AD. It is a printing process based on a stencil. It is made with a stencil on a mesh and although the screens were originally made of silk, they are now made of finely woven polyester or nylon. How does it work? The ink has to work its way through the areas that the stencil does not block. Each colour is applied with a new stencil or screen. A final screen print is created with beautiful colours and textures, with amazing images created one after the other. Mixed media is a term from the visual arts that refers to an art object or art installation consisting of more than one art medium. Several media are used together. The result is not necessarily a collage, but rather a painting technique.
