My work is the result of a search for color, shape, and harmony. A painting 'grows' towards a final result. Harmony and balance can only be achieved by recognizing and acknowledging contrasts. In my work, I try to grow in this, but in general, I also look at life this way. Kcolor plays an important role in my work. I find it a challenge to seek out the conceived combinations of colors and shades and to see them reflected in the final result. A painting is not finished if that aspect is not right. I paint from dark to light. This way, I can partially make the underlying layers visible. This gives extra depth and strength to the work. Balance and harmony are important elements in my work. Nature, for example, is not just beautiful. The growth of spring contrasts with the decay of autumn. If there is busyness in the painting, there must also be calm around it. These opposing factors ensure that there is balance and thus harmony.
