Oil on canvas abstract € 1,260.00 excluding frame Currently in Restaurant De Heeren van Wolfersveen in Zelhem Why I made this work The work finds its origin in the atmosphere of an old, worn map. The winding coastline and faded traces of time evoked in me a feeling of hidden stories and forgotten places. I wanted to capture that feeling: the idea of a landscape that was once carefully documented but has now eroded, shifted, and reshaped over the years. Technique I worked with oil paint in multiple layers, applied with a palette knife to create a vibrant, tactile surface. Some parts are pasty and full of texture, emphasizing the roughness of the "map landscape," while other layers are more subtle and smoother. This creates a tension between weathered depth and new beginnings, between relief and silence.
