In Interwoven Thoughts, Sophie Dumont explores the inner dimension of thought through a composition inspired by the abstract libraries that have become her signature. Books and chromatic fragments weave together here like the threads of an inner dialogue. Some forms overlap, others respond or oppose each other, creating a visual network that evokes the circulation of ideas, their detours, and their resonances. The phrase of the philosopher Hannah Arendt particularly resonates with this work: "To think is to dialogue with oneself." Here, each "volume" becomes a posed, displaced, reworked idea. The surface, entirely made with a knife in oil, reveals layers, revisions, and traces of the gesture, like the memory of a reflection in motion. Interwoven Thoughts is an elegant and meditative work that questions our intimate relationship with knowledge, reading, and the journey of thought.
