Oil on canvas € 1.260.00 excluding frame currently in the studio in Arnhem Why I made this work This work originated from the image of an expansive plateau, where depth and a distant horizon meet. For me, it is about space - open, breathing, almost elemental. The emptiness, the light, and the visible layers of the landscape together form a quiet world in which you can disappear. It is a play between earth, air, and distance: a place where space itself tells the story. Technique I worked with oil paint in pasty, layered structures to give the landscape a physical presence. With palette knife and with my hands, I applied, shifted, and built up the paint. Thus, a skin of paint emerged in which movement, relief, and spontaneous textures found their own rhythm. The combination of technique and intuition allows the plateau to be not only seen but almost felt.
