Framed in natural wood or black floater frame as your choice Mineral Time explores the matter of time through a succession of pictorial layers, like so many layers slowly deposited by memory, light, and gesture. In this abstract and silent work, Sophie Dumont works with color as a sedimentation. Each band — ochre, blue, cream, olive, or black — acts as a trace of landscape, both real and mental. The surface irregularities, visible superpositions, rubbed or thickened textures create a deep vibration, almost geological. The artist does not represent: she deposits, constructs, visually archives fragments of sensations. Between pure abstraction and sensitive reminiscence, Mineral Time is part of an approach where painting becomes a living memory. Oil on canvas, 2025.
