We are looking down at this juvenile black-necked crane. The adult will have mostly black and white with a cinnamon brown head, and here we see more of this cinnamon brown on the juvenile. Beautiful blend of nature's colors in the young bird. I have spent time at the International Crane Foundation in Baraboo, Wisconsin, and took photos of this crane there. This painting was also on exhibit there in 2005. The painting on its watercolor paper is 16"x16" while the mat surrounding it in the frame is 5" wide, giving a very dramatic presentation. There is also a thin inner mat in the tan color, giving a very professional appearance. The price includes shipping costs. There can be some negotiation on this if the buyer is near the Chicago area.
