Started as a study of negative space, it became a more personal reflection on separation and connection. Negative space gives the piece form. It unites and separates. It recalls the line in Walt Whitman's, I Sing the Body Electric, 'The armies of those I love engirth me and I engirth them' 3464.45 miles refers to two points in east London and Brooklyn.
