Framing: American box in natural or black wood (collector's choice). With Interior Architecture, Sophie Dumont explores the intimate construction of pictorial space. The canvas, structured by horizontal and vertical layers, plays on the tension between balance and imbalance: a large light surface, slightly tilted, seems suspended at the heart of the composition. The ochres, oranges, and deep reds respond to a more sober palette of grays, greens, and beiges, giving the whole a vibration that is both warm and contained. Worked with a knife, the dense material imparts a tactile and almost architectural intensity, transforming the surface into reliefs and fragments of the workshop. This work reflects Sophie Dumont's approach: to translate the essence of creative spaces into an abstract language, where space becomes memory and matter.
