This series transcends the pure square grid of 5 x 5 sub-squares by: Variant 1-2) the base squares are combined into double blocks, so that in the end only a single final square remains, which acts as a dissolving center window - or as a keystone - or Variant 1-3) the base squares are joined into double blocks and angle blocks, which do not produce a single square anymore in terms of division. The aim is to constructively resolve several tension tasks: The color-in-itself contrast, the light-dark contrast - as well as the quantitative contrast through different numbers of the various colored subgroups.
