A watercolorist is drawn to various plants, flora and vegetables as subjects! Here I have drawn then painted the red onion, with it's peeling layers, revealing various shaded of the red-purple color which I find so appealing. It is an artwork in itself! A painting such as this is a reminder of the delicate beauty all around us, even in the kitchen. I show here the entire archival mat, since it is wide and well features the subject. The thick mat is 4 inches at top and sides, with 6 inch mat at bottom to weight the subject. There is a thin gold tone metal frame.
