My image is a homage, a tribute to this exuberant, cheerful painting by Appel, one of the most iconic paintings of the Cobra movement. A fantasy creature that radiates a cheering sense of victory and liberation, loudly expressed in a cry of freedom. In doing so, Appel expresses what everyone in his group must have felt and makes this painting a symbol of the entire Cobra movement.
