Red-crowned Crane of Hokkaido

In my series of cranes, which were exhibited at the International Crane Foundation at Baraboo, Wis. in 2005, this is the Red-crowned Crane of Hokkaido. This species is found in China, eastern Russia, and Korea, migrating north and south there, but there is a permanent population on Japan's island of Hokkaido, because they feed them in winter months and flaunt a display of them for the public to observe and enjoy. Their courting dance is elegant and a site to see!!! Was I in Hokkaido? No, but I used that background (mountains, volcano) for this magnificent 5 ft tall bird. I used my own photograph, taken in Wisconsin, as reference for this painting. This painting is floating on an archival mat with the deckled edge handsomely showing, then another 4 inch mat surrounding that, giving the total dimensions above. The narrow frame is bronze-tone metal. This is a gicleé print. The original was sold in 2005. It is framed with glass, and care will be taken with packing. Price includes wrapping, shipping and tax.
