Zuhar Adacoglu

Zuhar Adacoglu was born in Ankara in 1981. She graduated from Ankara Anatolia Fine Art High School Painting Department in 1999, then studied at Gazi University Fine Art Education Department from 2000 before transferring to Marmara University's Ataturk Education Faculty, Fine Arts Education Department, where she completed her degree two years later. In 2014, she graduated from Anadolu University's Cultural Heritage and Tourism Program and has since continued her master's degree in the Painting Department at Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts, Fine Arts Institute. In 2019, she received Art Therapy Training from Dr. Hira Selma Kalkan.

Adacoglu has exhibited widely across Turkey. Her solo exhibition Handmade Defense / Cathartic Mirror was shown at Iklim Art Project in Ankara in 2019. Group exhibitions and art fairs include Respect to the Life at Kuşadası Art Gallery in 2019, Twice (-) Exhibition at GaleriM Art Gallery in Ankara in 2019, the 16th International Art Workshop in Bodrum in 2015, and multiple presentations at the Istanbul Art Fair between 2009 and 2010. She participated in the Photosynthesis Symposium at Atmosphere Art Projects in Narköy in 2014 and exhibited in The Istanbul Summer Exhibition in 2011, among others.

In recent years, Adacoglu has focused on research articles examining artistic practices within cultural anthropology. Her publications include essays on African artistic traditions and masks, appearing in Izlekler Art and Culture Magazine and Izlekler Publishing between 2018 and 2019. She has also contributed to Kirpi Literary Magazine.
