Wien de Graaf was born in Den Helder and lives and works in Oosterhout, North Brabant. He studied at the Municipal Lyceum in Dordrecht from 1969 to 1974 and attended the Academy of Fine Arts Rotterdam from 1974 to 1978.
Since 2018, de Graaf has been a teacher and coach at H19 Academy, a center for the arts. From 2017 to 2018, he served as manager of the art collection for the municipality of Oosterhout. He was a board member of Open Studios Oosterhout from 2007 to 2013 and has been a member of the BKKC since 2006. He has also been a member of the foundation BOCK Oosterhout since 2014, and was involved in organizing the culture night from 2016 to 2019.
His work has been exhibited widely in galleries and museums throughout the Netherlands, including exhibitions at Museum Princehage, Gallery Vermeulen, Maria Church in Oosterhout, and numerous group and solo shows. He has contributed to collaborative projects including the 365+1 project with 52 artists, the culture night series, and publications such as the picture book Joen created in collaboration with the library Theek5.
