Veaceslav Jiglitski

Veaceslav Jiglitski was born in 1970 in Slobozia, Republic of Moldova, and is now based in Chișinău as a contemporary bronze sculptor. He trained at the A. Șciusev School of Fine Arts, the A. Plămădeală College of Fine Arts, and the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts, beginning to exhibit his work in 1993.

Each of his pieces is hand-cast in bronze using the lost-wax technique, then hand-finished and polished. His work includes decorative figures of the male and female form, fruit and animal compositions, and abstract works rendered in flowing, elongated lines. His urban and monumental sculptures are installed in Chișinău, Odessa and Brașov.

His bronzes have been presented as official gifts to heads of state of 18 countries and are held in private collections internationally. Jiglitski is an Honorary Citizen of Chișinău and a recipient of the Thomas Bach Award for the development of art in sport and the Adam Mickiewicz Award. He collaborates with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moldova, the Moldexpo International Exhibition Center, the National Olympic Committee, and undertakes private and architectural commissions.
