Varya Fait

Russian artist based in Germany. My work focuses on feminist and queer themes and anti-war positions. I studied theater studies, painting, costume design at the Moscow Art Theatre, and theory and practice of performance. Key projects include “Death of the Menstruating Body” (Laboratory of Total Chaos), queer performances in Georgia and at an anti-war festival in Moscow, a play at the Meyerhold Center, and the City Says residency project “Traces of the 9th Line.” I work across painting, sculpture, clothing design, performance, and stage-based practices.
