Tjerk Spriensma was born in 1971 in the Southern Ijselmeerpolder and works from his studio in Dronten. He began painting in December 2019 and is self-taught. His background includes education in higher informatics and work as an architect.
In December 2023, Spriensma won the Open Art Prize 2023 at the Meerpaal in Dronten, competing among nearly fifty artists. His original paintings and reproductions have been available since January 2021.
