About Rita Busschots
Biography – Rita Busschots
Rita Busschots is a Belgian artist with a strong connection to Abstract Expressionism, particularly the technique of Action Painting. Her work arises from a deeply emotional process: every brushstroke is a physical translation of inner movement. Humanity is central to her work—not as figuration, but as feeling, as energy, as impression.
“Art shouldn't be understood, it should be felt,” says Busschots. This vision translates into powerful, intuitive paintings that combine spontaneity and authenticity. In 2003, her work was included in Piron's art book "Young Belgian Artists of the 19th-20th Century," and that same year she exhibited in Port Napoléon, Southern France. Since then, she has built an impressive list of works and sold more than 100 works to private collectors.
