About Nel de Mol
Exloo, Netherlands
My name is Nel de Mol (born in Dordrecht 26-01-1960) and I am a visual artist specialized in seascapes.
…”From everything I encounter on my path, I create a beautiful representation to share”…
I paint seascapes and other landscapes with water. I draw my inspiration from nature by taking long walks, with a great love for places with water, especially along the coast. I can let my mind clear and recharge with inspiration for new, creative ideas.
The love for the sea I inherited from my parents. My mother came from Katwijk and I had a caravan in Schouwen for over 20 years, my Juttershut. During my travels, I always seek out the water.
With my paintings, I share the beautiful views of nature. When framing, I sometimes use old wood and incorporate found materials. I mainly work with acrylic paint. My style is figurative and sometimes abstracting.
I have been drawing and creating my whole life. During my college years, I learned all facets of the drawing profession and later at the free academy of Dordrecht, I followed various advanced courses. Since 2007, I have taught in my home studio and on location.
In recent years, I prefer to paint. I enjoy figuring out what I can do with different materials and I am always looking for fascinating compositions to shape in my 'own way'.
