Piatra Neamț, Romania
Mimi Revencu was born in Piatra Neamț, Romania, where she still lives. She is a graduate of Al.I. Cuza University in Iași, where she initially studied economics before turning to painting.
Her work is rooted in everyday experiences and moments, expressed through personal symbolism drawn from Eastern European traditions, fairy tales, and patterns. Her paintings often contain hidden meanings and secrets within their narratives, combining authentic emotion with carefully developed visual storytelling.
Revencu's early interest in art came through her father's drawings. She painted throughout her youth, but devoted herself fully to art only later in life, studying under Romanian master Petru Petrescu, who recognized her natural talent and distinctive style.
Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at Art Salon Métropolitain de Paris (2023), Tokyo International Art Fair (2021), Rotterdam International Art Fair (2019), and Hotel Euler in Basel (2019). She has participated in group exhibitions including the Butterfly Effect and ARTFUSION, and her paintings are held in private collections across the Netherlands, USA, Romania, Italy, the UK, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hungary, and Dubai. One of her works is held in the Museum of Satire and Humor in Gabrovo, Bulgaria.
