2019 glass casting and glass blowing in Lommel
For years I have been inspired by working with glass. I use various techniques. Blowing glass has the most appeal to me, it remains fascinating how glass changes through the flame. I try to create assembled shapes with the fragile glass. For example, I make an ant. This consists of different glass parts that fit together and can be placed in different ways, thus can take multiple positions. I also make different flowers of glass with separate shapes.
Other techniques I work with are tiffany and engraving glass. With tiffany, I try to work as three-dimensional as possible, creating beautiful objects with different colors. When the light falls on it, beautiful color gradations can be seen. I enjoy engraving glass by depicting representations with humor on the glasswork. For example, a funny text or a picture with a wink.
