Marion van Wijk

Marion van Wijk studied at the Academy Minerva in Groningen, receiving her certificate in 1974. She taught visual arts at Fivelcollege in Delfzijl from 1976 to 1979.

Since 1994, van Wijk has worked as a portrait painter and maintained her own studio in Baarn, where she offered courses in painting for adults, discussing her own work and guiding students through the creative process. Photography became part of her practice from 2008 onward. She participated in the annual Kunst aan Huis studio route from 2009 to 2019 and was active on the Art Market committee in Haren from 2000 to 2019.

Her exhibitions include a photo exhibition at Clochuys in Haren in 2016, and photo exhibitions in 2017 at the Light Zone gallery in Groningen and in Paterswolde with the theme of still life. From 2011 to 2019, van Wijk worked as a museum teacher at the Drents Museum in Assen. In 2014, she completed Visual Thinking Strategies training in Amsterdam.
