Margot Maaskant

Born and raised in Rotterdam. For my studies at the Academy of Fine Arts St. Joost, I moved to Breda, the city where I live and work to this day.

Addicted to painting, I need to create, every day, every hour. Smearing paint is fun! Everything I paint is a reflection of my soul, it feels good to create something that was never there before and that no one else can do like I can. It is nice to be working with oil paint, directing the material in just the right direction to create the image I envision, colorful and expressive. Playing with paint, brushes, foils and whatever else is available to create a new image. Discovering, inventing, coming up with new variations. That is exciting and often happens naturally, that is flow.
