Manon van den Hurk, born in Breda, raised in Tilburg, currently residing in Eindhoven. Education in painting and specialization at the Arendonk Academy. Member of the Kubra Foundation and N.A.B.K.
I mainly work in oil paint on canvas. My interest lies in the planes, shapes, and lines from which the world around us is constructed. By making these visible, figurative paintings arise that work in a highly alienating way. It is more important for me to evoke an atmosphere than to create a realistic image.
