Lucia Ocejo

Lucia Ocejo was born and raised in Mexico City, Mexico. She began working in sculpture when she moved to Boston for her undergraduate degree.

Her early work centered on corn, or maíz, as Mexico's cultural center of gravity. Through subsequent pieces, she has explored her own nomadism as a young Mexican artist working abroad.

She turned to pottery as a language of the hands, to connect with histories and peoples and access knowledge passed down from one set of hands to another.
