Hello!
I am Lyudmila, I am from sunny Dnipro, Ukraine, but now I live in Amsterdam .
Although I am an engineer by profession, my true passion is the world of paints and brushes. I don't have an academic art education. At 50, I picked up a brush for the first time, and this was the beginning of a new era in my life. The world that I paint myself. My path to art was quite atypical. It all started with the war in Ukraine, when refugees arrived in my native Dnipro. As a volunteer of the charity organization “Dopomoga Dnipro”, I sought to support people. To help them cope with stress, I created a small art studio “Soniachna”. Once, due to unexpected circumstances, I had to conduct a drawing lesson for children myself. It was my first real lesson, and both the children and I liked it! Over time, adults joined us, and my responsibility as a "teacher" grew. It was then that I really started drawing, improving my skills to match this new status. That's how my special path in art began.
Since 2023, the studio has been temporarily operating in Amsterdam, but its goal remains the same – to give warmth, joy and the opportunity to create. During this time, I have organized two exhibitions with my works and the works of my students. The exhibitions were successful, had good reviews and sales.
The Language of My Paintings: Simplicity, Moods, and Boundless Horizons Minimalism and impressionism are intertwined in my works, complemented by naturalism and a special naivety. I find beauty in simplicity, in unpretentious plots that give the warmth and comfort of home. The colors on the canvases reflect my moods - from extremely saturated to calm and restrained. Most of all, I love painting landscapes, especially those that open wide horizons and vast horizons. It's my way of relaxing, meditating, and being able to immerse myself in the grandeur of nature.
The process of creating a painting for me is real "old-school" magic: the feeling of paper, canvas, brush, and paints.
