Руслан Борисенко

The creative path of the Petersburg artist Ruslan Borisenko began in early childhood and found continuation in the Saint Petersburg Children's Art School No. 2, which largely determined the direction of his further life path and interests. From childhood, Ruslan preferred graphic tools for creative expression. Pencil, ink, ink. During his studies at the art school, the first exhibitions began.

Despite having two higher education degrees in graphic design and working with raster, vector, and 3D graphics, Ruslan maintained his interest in traditional means of creative expression.

Sometimes combining, sometimes separating traditional and digital creativity, the artist sought his direction in art. After some time, while examining the engravings of Albrecht Dürer, Ruslan decided to try working in a similar style, using ink, hatching, engraving techniques, and pointillism – a style where the image is formed by a mass of dots.

Later, while studying in graduate school, the artist began to study various signs and symbols from past eras, which allowed him to enhance the meaningful component in his works. A special matrix of world perception was formed, which is expressed in a complex, multi-layered view of life and the various processes occurring within it. Conceptually, Ruslan's art sometimes intersects with religious images, as the artist greatly appreciates their aesthetics and emotional tone.

There was also room for digital graphics, with which Ruslan creates digital illustrations in a similar style and occasionally adds color accents to the black-and-white aesthetic. Furthermore, higher education and interest in design help implement various projects that combine art and design.
