Kos Cos

Kos Cos was born in Sri Lanka into an artistic family and began drawing and painting at an early age. In the golden age of hand-drawn signage, he spent time in his father's agency workshop, where he studied and practised brush skills after school. In 1999, he moved to Hong Kong to work in the advertising and film industries.

Portraiture has remained his primary focus throughout his career. In his practice, Cos begins with short sketchy strokes to capture the essence of a subject's features, then applies large, vividly-coloured brushstrokes to add movement and energy to the work.
