About Jacobien de Korte
Ermelo, Netherlands
Jacobien de Korte lives and works in Ermelo, in the Veluwe region of the Netherlands. She studied graphic design at the Willem de Kooning Academy of Arts in Rotterdam.
In her autonomous work, de Korte explores personal emotions and experiences, working with concepts of estrangement, loneliness, desolation, and mystery. Through her work, she seeks mutual recognition and understanding. Printing on fine art paper is central to her photographic process, and her photographs serve as the starting point for her oil paintings.
Since 2015, de Korte has been a member of the artist societies Pulchri and De Haagse Kunstkring, both based in The Hague. Her work has been exhibited in Dutch museums and galleries as well as internationally, including in Italy, England, France, Portugal, Brazil, and Japan. In 2023 she participated in the Architecture Biennale in Venice. Her work is held in private and corporate collections and has received awards. De Korte is open to commissions and collaborations, and studio visits are possible by appointment.
