Inge Jongens

Inge Jongens has worked as a floral designer, lawyer, and mother of four adult sons, with painting serving as a creative practice alongside these roles. Over the past thirty years, she has sold hundreds of paintings.

She has trained at the Gooise Academy, the Wackers Academy, and Westerdok Studios, and continues to paint weekly with Herman Tjepkema. Now retired from her other professions, she dedicates more time to her work.

Sensory perception remains her starting point, though she allows this boundary to shift. She does not pursue perfection in her paintings, finding resonance in Leonard Cohen's observation that there is a crack in everything—that's how the light comes in.
