Hetty was born and raised in Nijmegen and has been living and working in Wijchen since 1990. She began sculpting as a hobby in 2007, attending workshops at Galerie Stone Dreams in Nederasselt with sculptors Hans van Belle and Alice Musarara. Since October 2018, she has also taken sculpting lessons with artist Olga van Cromvoirt in Milsbeek.
In 2023, Hetty began painting, attending a workshop on acrylic pouring and taking painting lessons with artist Doro Krol from Nijmegen. Her work has been exhibited at several venues, including Museum het Petershuis in Gennep (December 2021 to March 2022), Museum Tweestromenland in Beneden Leeuwen (October to November 2016), and Gallery Kunst bij Karel in Gorinchem (April to September 2015). In the 2016 Maas en Waal Art Prize exhibition at Museum Tweestromenland, her sculpture "Face" received a nomination for the Public Prize and placed third.
Beyond sculpting and painting, Hetty also works with photography, creating art cards and other printed works featuring her photographs.
